The End
Congratulations on making it through the Challenge! Whether you wrote your goal number of words or not the important thing is that you wrote. Getting started and finding your writing rhythm is half the battle. Now you need to keep it up. There will always be reasons not to write. Ignore them and, instead, remember everything that’s great about writing. Write every day and don’t give up.

So we’ve got another round behind us. Whether you met your goal or not, if you’ve been writing, then you did well. All sorts of people say they want to be a writer, but so many of them never put pen to paper…or fingers to keyboard. So if you’ve done some writing this round, you succeeded. Now keep it up.

Hope everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable and productive challenge. It doesn’t matter whether you surpassed your goals or your output was more modest, you still took part. Good luck in the weeks ahead and happy writing!

Another challenge put to bed! Congratulations to each and every one of you who did not quit! In the end, it’s about persevering. Getting up a little early, going to bed a little late, dashing off a scene on your lunch hour. Just. Doing. It. That’s what it’s all about. Hope to see you all next challenge!

Whew! It’s over. How did you do? Whether you wrote a paragraph or an entire book, you did something. It’s time to evaluate, figure out what you did right and what you can improve on the next time. And don’t stop just because the challenge is over. Keep going. Keep writing. And congratulations, because any progress at all is progress toward your end goal.

The closest I’ve gotten to that ever elusive thing called flow is while writing. It’s a natural high, and like any junkie, I gotta get me some. And like anyone who has ever been addicted to anything, I have my moments of infuriating confusion. Then I have moments of light and lucidity when I’m able to focus without even trying and I forget to worry that this might never pay one single bill.
It still pays off. It makes me happy. It challenges. It makes me feel capable when lessons learned bleed into one and pour out. It makes me feel small when I remember that I still don’t have readers, I have observers. And yet I’m safe and content in the knowledge that this will never get old, this will never get boring. There will always be somewhere to go with whatever I’m working on, and even if there wasn’t, there would be something else to turn to.
Did any of that make any sense at all? I feel so strongly about this it’s not even funny. It’s absolutely hilarious. So thank you dearest Sven for challenging this Southern girl from the North. Feel free to do it again any time. Thank each and every sponsor for your insights and inspiration. And as for all of you brave challengers: Happy writing. And good luck.

Thanks for hosting the challenge guys! I’m just a couple steps away from the end - and then the dreaded querying process starts! I’ll miss having to check in with Sven!

I wound up having to use Sven to induce me to finish creating the new class I’m teaching this semester rather than as a fiction coach. But the good news is that except for the last few lectures I need to record, all the rest is done. I’ve also got reams of notes for my next WIP, so… when’s the next round? Wink wink.

I didn’t finish but it did make me disciplined about writing regularly so that’s great. I also loved the quotes and posts here - thanks for running the challenge.

I finished but found myself pulled ninety ways during the last few months. I was glad to have Sven as a way to get myself to write when i just wanted to go to sleep. Because I did it, I ended up with a new idea and even more lovely, that idea sold. Now I have to write it!

I did it! I met my goal and wrote my first YA from start to finish (plus a couple of synopses, bringing my total word count to 70000). Thanks so much for the challenge! The check-in’s really helped me stay motivated, and I appreciated the daily encouragement. Best of luck to everyone!

Final word count: 121,160
Best of all, last night we finished the two outstanding novella we needed to get done. Somehow we made it through our writing goals and all the crazy editing and revisions. Life is looking a lot nicer on this side of the challenge. Thanks for hosting it!

Thanks to all for sponsoring the challenge. I just finished blogging my final Sven Report. I completed 52,658 of 60K, leaving 7,342 to go. I’m heading to the finish with Conn, my regular mat master.
It’s been fun, and I really appreciate the time and effort you, the sponsors, put into this challenge.
Much cheer.

Thanks so much for sponsoring this group feed. I didn’t quite hit my stated goal but am very satisfied with the progress I made. Oh and, just so you know, Sven is staying at my house tonight.

I kind of lost it somewhere in the middle because of personal stuff - but for the past three weeks I’ve been working like a demon, writing every night and getting a lot done. So I’m very pleased with how things have gone recently.
And I’m definitely in on the next round. Barring any horrible unplanned stuff that life’s got coming my way.
