A little motivation
“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”
Mark Twain
Always surround yourself with the people who motivate you, who believe in you. And always believe in yourself. Pay no attention to those who think your dreams are unattainable. They are, if you work for them.

In my Thackerayesque couldn’t-cut-the-word-count-on-this-if-my-life-depended-on-it way I would like to say thanks right here, right now.
I’m so glad I signed up this time around. I’m even happier to have had a place to come and commiserate. I’m elated to have stuck to my guns and made progress. And I feel some serious separation anxiety coming my way.
“Aren’t you rivals in a sense,” a friend of mine asked when I explained, or obviously failed miserably at explaining, Sven. If you want to look at it in the dog-eat-dog slash catfight sense well sure, why not, but of course. How counterproductive and untrue, said I. I could not have written your stories, and you might never have come up with mine, not as I wrote them down. But I sure as hell have enjoyed writing them as much as I have enjoyed reading yours.
Only you know what it’s like, some from way back when, some from just since last year, or since signing up to take on Sven. It’s motivational and inspiring to have such accomplished sponsors. It’s humbling to have so many fellow challengers. And it absolutely boggles the mind to know that we all dream the same dream, even though most of us do not know one another. In that sense you know me better than some of the people I’ve known for years know me. How strange and beautiful is that?
