From William Hefferman
“Good work doesn’t happen with inspiration. It comes with constant, often tedious and deliberate effort. If your vision of a writer involves sitting in a cafĂ©, sipping an aperitif with one’s fellow geniuses, become a drunk. It’s easier and far less exhausting.”

Yeah, I find it’s so much easier to sit in a coffee house with my buddy, talking about being a writer… than it is to actually sit at the keyboard and write!
Hoping to do the deed and maintain my output today though.
How about everyone else? Big, productive writing week ahead?

Oh, that’s brilliant!
I *will* be productive (day job / packing for the hols notwithstanding - how many books will I need for a 2 week holiday? I was aiming for about 40, but if it snows as they’re predicting, it may not be enough! Laptop’s coming too so iz gud!)

Enjoy your holiday, Merry! Hope it’s a great source of creative refreshment and/or research material… as well as a rest!

I would have to agree with this. There are days it flows and others where it’s like pulling teeth.
So far today, I’ve written 1500 words and am on track. This is a good day!

I was aiming for 5 pages and made 2, but that’s 2 more than I had before. Total words 4750 so far.

My muse loves hanging out with the crowd WH described. They toast one another and shoot come-hither looks.
Reminding him that is exactly why he still hasn’t written anything and I’ve done all the work, and the dirty look he then gives me for bringing up the subject, is usually all the inspiration I need.
What can I say other than it’s a love and I-beg-to-differ relationship.

Lyn & Deb… great progress. I’m of the opinion that whether you meet a target or just do *some* of what you meant to do, it’s still a WIN!
LOL Dita! My muse or whatever likes to hang out on Twitter all the time and chat with a bunch of other folk who ought to be writing rather than tweeting.
