And that’s a wrap…final thoughts from Sven
For this time.
Another Challenge down and congratulations for hanging in! It’s not so much the number of words but in the end, the fact that you’ve put writing in a place of importance in your life.
Whether your words flowed easily or whether you had to yank every single one from your fingertips kicking and screaming - you’re a writer. Keep it up.

You joined, you wrote, you participated. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done, whether you wrote 1,000 words or 100,000. It’s all about the journey, the process, and what you learned about yourself as a writer. Take a step back now and figure out what you did well, and what you can do better next time.
Congratulations!

Congratulations to everybody who shared in the challenge. Whether you exceeded your goals, or didn’t quite reach them this time, you still took part and that shows commitment to your writing.
Well done! And may the lessons you’ve learned while ’sweating’ stay with you in the days and months to come.

You did it!! No matter how many words you got down on the page - you did it! You kept writing, kept trying, kept pushing. Some days were better than others. Some weeks seemed impossible. Some chapters just refused to come out the way you wanted. That’s all okay. The point is that you made a commitment and saw it through. That’s what matters. Now take that commitment and keep writing. This is only the beginning.

We’re done with another challenge, but none of us are done writing. Some days you might have exceeded your goals, and on others, you might not have come close to hitting them. But you tried. You signed up for the challenge, which means you WANTED to succeed. If you did, YOU ROCK!!!! If you didn’t, don’t beat yourself up. Sometimes life gets in the way. Get back in the saddle and pick a day to meet one of the daily goals you set for the challenge. Meet it. Then you’ll know you could. And keep doing it like that, because writing “The End,” is the ultimate goal.

So another round is done. Chances are you did some writing, maybe more than you’d hoped, maybe less. But you wrote. That’s the key thing here. Writing isn’t something easily squeezed in when the mood hits. Serious writers—published or not—make themselves write regularly. That’s how stories get told. Word by word, line by line, page by page, chapter by chapter. That’s how the story gets written. Whatever you’ve learned this time around, keeping building on it. Keep working on it. Keep writing.

[…] 7. SVEN ends. I’m so bummed, but I’ve been tearing up my word count! Only 15K to go to make my goal. Wish me luck. *WEG* It’s done now. As of the 16th. […]

I broke the 100K mark but haven’t yet finished the current ms. I should by the end of the month, though, and Sven was a huge part of that success. Thank you so much, Sven!

I didn’t think I was going to finish…but I did! Total weighed in at 71 K, just a little over my goal of 70.
Thanks so much for the Sweating Challenge. It’s a lot of fun and good motivation.

Well, I did absolutely horrible. I started out well, but ran into some problems. However, I would do it again. The nice thing is that it inspires my son. I tell him that I am going to write every day and he is interested. He has now picked up his pencil and is writing little books on index cards.

Thanks guys for organizing this. I sort of petered out near the end, but I’ve really enjoyed participating in all three - so nice to know I’m not pushing through on my own!

Meh, I’m late, hehehe. I’ve reached the 120k goal, but not surprisingly this sucker took on a life of its own. All four to five novellas and big ones I did earlier are submitted. I’m also refurbishing a few others that needed further work. My question is…whens the next one starting!

I fell abt 20,000 words short, but I am halfway through my book–the most progress I have made on a WIP since, well, high school. The challenge was immensely helpful, esp. when it came to pinpointing my writing weaknesses. I am so excited for everyone who achieved their goals!
May 18th, 2008 at 10:47 pm
I finished my WIP! Yay!!! Now, on to my edits.
May 20th, 2008 at 7:47 am
Didn’t reach my word goal but I didn’t finish/edit/polish the one I was working on. I also got a request to submit in an interesting fashion, so I wrote the query and synopsis. They’ve since asked for the full! This is my first! From the first request to the last it took FIVE days!!!
Then I had an identity crisis and became someone else. LOL
I’m now writing under the pen name Rhian Cahill.
It’s been a wild ride this time around.

Next round…hmmmmm… we’ll have to get back to you on that.
Congrats to all who met their goals…even if you didn’t meet the goal, though, if you worked towards it, congrats. Saying you want to write a book is easy.
Actually doing it? Different story. So if you’re working towards that goal, mega congrats

I missed out on this round, but please let me know when the next round begins because I want in on it. My experience with the last one was amazing! I have a new book I’ve started and the challenge really helps keep me on track. Thanks!

When is the next round! I’m eager to participate, I have an idea I’m itching to explore.

Sven’s been on vacation for 3 months. What’s he been up to?
Did he seduce the female captain of the cruise he was on?
Did he travel the world learning new training techniques?
Did he volunteer to be our sponsors’ personal slave, I mean assistant?
Do tell…
