Wow - the end already? I’ve skipped the last few check-ins. Not for lack of progress, just lack of time. I’ve completed my WIP since starting with Sven, which was my primary goal, apx. 57K words. I’ve also done extensive revisions to the first 24K. I’m a happy camper. =)

I’m a bit in writing limbo just now… so no real progress. I need to focus and start a new project. Now!

I’m not going to finish the novel with this go-round but I already knew that as I had some edits and revisions in the mix, but I’m steadily making progress and have set my goal and Sven helped me accomplish that. I love these challenges!

I finally have some new numbers! I’m at around 17k. Yeah. For the challenge. Now, before ya’ll start knocking me upside the head for slacking, I’ve been doing a ton of longhand. Yesterday I typed up over 5k from my notebook. But for what it lacks in quantity, I really like what’s happened in it so far.
As for the other WIP… *deflates* D’you think you could give me a swift kick through the computer? I need one…

Hovering around 58k for Sven. My health hasn’t been so good — been hot with a string of migraines — and I’ve gotten 447 words written since the last check-in. Hopefully, I’ll feel better and can at least hit 60k.
Cheers,
EK

I’m at 52,500 for Sven, and I went back and looked at last Sunday’s check-in, and I’ve written a little over 16,000 words this *week* Wooo-eeee! I’m gonna beat Sven, I know it.

I haven’t checked in for a while but I’ve been writing. By tomorrow, I’ll hit over 70,000 words for Sven. I finished one manuscript and am 66 pages into another. I’m very happy with what I’ve accomplished here.
May 4th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
The book is done!
Final wordcount is 116k.

Congrats Zoe!

Oh, I am so jealous of Zoe!!!!
I’ve gotten 40 pages done this week, but I’m looking at having this book wrapped up by May 10.
And congrats, Zoe! Great job!!! (But I’m still jealous!)

I’m actually almost to the end of my current book. I used this challenge to write on several manuscripts, but getting this one done is a big deal, so I’m judging myself satisfied with my performance on this challenge if I can finish this book by the end of it. I think I’ll finish just in time.
As of right now, I’ve written about 55,000 words during the challenge. Less than I wanted, but I got a few older manuscripts finished, which was an awesome thing, so I’m very pleased!

I’m like Bianca, I use this challenge to work on a few WIP’s total word count so far 48,498. I was hoping to get around the 56k mark so I’m on track.
Next time though I think I’ll work on one WIP, than go onto the next. I have 12 WIP’s ATM. One finished which is in need of editing (well finish editing). The other 11 are all over the place, so I really need to get my finish a few. Plus I’ve just started the Cata challenge ‘A Novella in a Month’. One friend told me I was a challenge slut, LOL; I think she may be right.
Okay back at it. Have a good week everyone.
Hugs
Sandie

Still working on two books…together I got around 9k!
May 4th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
Total verbiage for Sven so far: over 98,000 words. Unfortunately the first 58,000 or so had to be scrapped — I ran into a wall and had to rework the structure of my story. Since then, approx. 40,000 words on the rewrite.
But the story is falling into place beautifully this time around, and even though I won’t have it finished by the end of this round of Sweat (I’m shooting for 100,000 words, completed rough draft), I’m pleased with what I’ve accomplished.

I’ve forgotten to check in for the past week or so, but not because I haven’t been writing! I’m at 73k for Sven as of tonight - and it looks like my book should be done in another 2k or less! That’s 10k less than I’d anticipated, but I’m happy with that ’cause I usually have the opposite problem. THere are lots of places where I need to layer in more details, plot and character intricacies I left out because I didn’t think I’d have room, that I can put in when it’s time to revise. So hopefully I will have a finished ms to report on Wednesday! And it woudln’t have happened nearly as quickly if not for Sven’s “encouragement.”
May 4th, 2008 at 10:49 pm
My Sven III total is 74,122, with over 12K in May already. I’m in the home stretch of this book, but I don’t know that I’ll hit the end before Sven is over.
May 5th, 2008 at 12:27 am
Whoops! Almost forgot to check in! So I’m sitting at 95k total. Since Wednesday I’ve added 9k to the novel. I’m not sure if I’ll finish the rough draft of this novel by the end of the challenge. I’ll probably cut it close. I’m cool with that. Finishing a novella within the first month of the challenge was enough for me!
May 5th, 2008 at 12:52 am
Huh must’ve checked in at the wrong time. Yikes. Anyway. new title for current ms is Mending Terilee. I’m almost at the end with 97,139k I’m guessing its going to be about 120k when I finish the final rough. I’m rounding it high because the final count depends on how I finish certain parts of the separate files. ^_^
Congrats to those who’re flying high with success of finishing! Only three more check ins? Wow time flies when having fun.
Happy early Mom’s day to those of you who are mothers and have them as well

This week was a total loss on so many levels. Monday our beloved dog Angel died in a tragic, horrible, freak accident. We’ve been in mourning ever since, and I couldn’t possibly write.
May 5th, 2008 at 12:32 pm
Oh, Kathleen, I’m so sorry. The loss of a four-footed family member is painful. Big ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) to you — you and your family are in my thoughts.

Thanks Thomma Lyn. We’re actually adopting a new furbaby on the 24th, so that’s been something positive.

I’ve been very bad at checking in lately but have been ok with the writing - hovering right around 70K. The WIP isn’t done, but I’m getting from my head to computer which is the good part. Went with a first time mystery for this and learning a little as I go. Keeping good thoughts for everyone!
May 5th, 2008 at 8:07 pm
Sorry, I’m late. It’s not even summer and the insanity has started here.
I think 5k since last check in, not including today.
May 5th, 2008 at 10:28 pm
It’s not that I don’t stop by daily and read the postings because I do and I love them. It’s that life is awesomely hectic, but I did write just not that much.

So, this is my first Sven challenge. And I know we’re not at the end yet, but I’ve finished. I got around 25K in the challenge. Which I’m very pleased with. That meant I wrote, revised and submitted a novella for an anthology to my publisher. Yay me! I also managed to squeeze in edits for two other books. So, I didn’t meet Sven’s goal, but I certainly met my own personal goals. Thanks for sponsoring this challenge!
