    This it all came to a screaming halt. Nothing, zero, zilch, naught, nil, not a damn thing!!!! Had hubby home working on horses, going to pick up new truck and a migraine that wiped me out for three days.

    So I now have 18 days 8 hours and 20 minutes to get myself back in gear. LOL. I live in a dream world.

    Hope the rest of you are getting your word count done.

    Since Wednesday: 2,192 new words, more restructuring and fine-tuning of the world-building elements of my story, and I’m up to 19,283 words for my rewrite. That makes a total of approximately 78K words for Sven.

    I probably won’t finish the rewrite by May 15, but that’s okay — Sven’s kept my butt well-kicked and kept me in gear even through the frustrations of having to scrap 58K and do a rewrite. My story will be better for it.

    I’m at 71k and may have to call a day.

    Our coal range exploded on Friday night. The landlord said it was safe to use. It was so ’safe’ that after 3 hours (this was the first time we’d lit it), the entire range exploded when we were sitting 4 feet away from it. Red hot shrapnel blasted into the walls and the room was filled with smoke and burning embers.

    The fire brigade was brilliant and my OH and I are very, very lucky to be alive and not suffering anything more than bronchitis from smoke inhalation.

    So now we’re waiting on insurance etc and it looks like we can take our landlord to court for negligence. I don’t think I’ll have much time for writing in the next couple of weeks but I wanted to thank the Sven team for the encouragement.

    I’ll be back for the next round!

    I am happy to report that I am back on track after a stress-induced draught (got caught up in the whole dilemma of my younger daughter’s new diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome, in addition to bipolar disorder, what with battling the school for a better IEP and doing research, not much time left over for writing). Hard at work on revisions of two different WIPs, one of which may be published in the near future.

    Still checking proofs here, a job I hate… and have been doing a little on a short story. Just a few hundred words, but it was nice to be writing instead of proofing. :)

    No writing, just plotting. I’m done beating myself up over it. I’m regularly getting ideas for how this next draft is going to come together, so I’m not what you would call blocked. I’m just taking this opportunity to do what I so rarely do–PLOT before I get another 53k+ into a story and find out something won’t work. Took a little time to refill the well and do some reading.

    I suck….I’m a little over halfway and have to stop to read page proofs, not that I’ve made huge progress anyway but…. :(

    Long time, no post. I haven’t posted any progress the last few weeks, because I have only been working on my book sporadicly. I have added about 10,000 words in the last three weeks and had my wisdom teeth pulled. So all in all, I’m okay with my progress. Not as far as I would like, but doing okay.

    I have to be honest I haven’t signed in for ages, however I am still writing. I also have to be honest and say I have no idea what my wordcount is in total. I’ve been keeping tabs on how much I’ve been writing each day but I’ve not added them all up.

    I had been working on a number of small pieces but this week worked out a plot niggle that had meant I’d had to put a wip to one side. I picked up said wip and have been inspired to continue with it. To the point of doing 5k in one day something totally unheard of from me before. So it’s all steam ahead!

    This is my first check-in but I’m at the halfway point in my book and it’s slow-going as I’m finished putting all the pieces on the board and now have to get them moving to the finish. I don’t know if I’ll make deadline for Sven (sorry Sven!) but it’s good to have a deadline and a goal.

    It’s going well! I finished edits and rewrites of my book and put in over 2K on the new story this week, all while working 56 hours at the day job. I think that’s pretty good. My family has been severely neglected, but they’re used to it. LOL!

    Stinking up the joint! I have less discipline than a grapefruit. Anyhow, citrus fruit aside, I have written 1000 wds today, but today is a good day.

    Currently I have 1190 for the week. I’m hoping to write a bunch more today, but with visitors and going to people’s houses, I’m hosed. This also takes away from the housecleaning that needs to get done. And now I have a headache.

    My Inspirado is back!!! I logged 13k this week. 76k for the challenge. I had some bad weeks this month but hopefully that’s all in the past!

    Happy to report that nothing has blown up at my house this week. Just the usual tax-payer, mortgage-payer, banging one’s head against the walls of incompetence we laughingly refer to as our government and our banking system.

    But the only flaming shrapnel in my life this week was in chapter 9. All to the good. No idea of the word count. I really should pay more attention to that.

    Well, I’m currently working on one project. I’m pleased to say it is at 60k and well on its way to being finished. Now to put together all four files, har, har har, and see what the final count is.

    I’m rewriting Solange’s Desperation after realizing it needed some work and received a rejection. Oh well, all is good, and I’m coming to the conclusion that some stories aren’t meant to be short. At least it seems so when characters are screaming to get their stories told simultaneously.

    My goal is 30K by the end of this month, and I’m sitting at 27,970, and a total of 55,179 for Sven III. I’ve almost hit the big terrible turning mid-way point of the book. No idea how long it’ll be yet, but it’s looking to be a whopper.

    Making progress. Still slow, but at least ongoing. I had the copy edited manuscript for my next book and got through those, which took out a few days this week. But back on track now and over the mid-hump I think. So off I go! Weeeeee!

    Didn’t have access to the internet last night, so here’s my check-in. I ended my writing yesterday 36,250 words, for a writing week of 11k! WOO!!!

    Still lacking the 25 k I need to submit but I did finish the synopsis and query so that’s a bonus. Didn’t do crap yesterday. I think it is fear keeping me from finishing but I hope to kick it in the butt today and crank out some words!

    Le sigh, not where I want to be (at about 27), but hopeful to hit revised goal of 60…it will be tough, but I’m going for it. Best of luck to all–this has been a great experience!
