From Stephen King
“Sometimes you have to go on when you don’t feel like it, and sometimes you’re doing good work when it feels like all you’re managing is to shovel shit from a sitting position.”

What a great quote! There’s hope for me yet… I really feel as if I’m shovelling horse pooh at the moment. LOL

And this is why I love Stephen King.

Brilliant! This quote fits perfectly at the moment.
And proves I might not like all of King’s books, but I loved his book about writing.

I already have this quote up on my wall with shoveling shit in big bold letters. Somedays that’s exactly how I feel.

Wow, this is just how I was feeling last night. It’s better for me to just shovel out that shit and go back and edit afterward.
But it still feels like shit.

I love all of his books, some more than others, but I totally ADORE his book on writing! It gives me so much hope! Great quote!

His “On Writing” book is in my TBR pile - I can see I need to move it to the top.

I first “read” his book “On Writing” on audio. It’s read by Stephen King himself, and I loved it so much, I had to buy the paper version. I was especiallly drawn to this quote and used it for quite awhile as a tag line quote on my writing group site. There are quite a few pearls of wisdom in there like this one!
