After doing really well last week, I’ve lapsed a bit again. Was really lazy over the Easter hols, but got back into editing mode a bit yesterday, polishing and editing a short story. No new words though… bad me.

I’m still managing the 1k a day. I’ve finished up 2 wips so far.
The third, that I started again this week, is taking a bit longer, lol This is a nightmare wip from the last Sweat. It was supposed to be a 25k novella and I’m currently at 38k with a possible end being 60k *gulp*
My Sven total is 26 615. I’m very happy with this as I’m still deep in the Easter Holidays. The monsters don’t go back to school/pre-school till Monday…

I didn’t do all that well this week. I have only done about 1200. I didn’t write at all on Sunday (Easter) and yesterday was my mom’s birthday and we went to her house for dinner and cake. I haven’t written today yet, I’ll have to after I get home. Hopefully, I’ll have something to show on Sunday’s check in.

I’m doing pretty well, actually. I’m still editing and changing all these scenes in the beginning of my book in order to continue on later, and it’s actually going very well. I’m proud of myself that I’ve pushed through the fear of doing this and got back into the love of the story.
Still no official word count update, but hopefully coming for Sunday.

Sven it’s been hard. Over two manuscripts I’m working on right now I have written 10k. 8,000 in one and 2,000 in the other since Sunday.
It helped having Monday off.
Right now I’m back at EDJ, and I’m a bit stuck on one that has an end of April deadline. Since the sun is *surprise* actually out up here and the snow is melting I’m going for a walk today on my lunch. I hope that will clear my brain.

I’ve put in about 1000 words since Sunday.
I had a good day yesterday as I found an expert I can bounce questions off about my hero’s job. So hoping I haven’t scared him off with my first round of questions I’ll have a better handle on all things involving my hero soon.
Most of my writing to date has been heroine centered so now it’s my hero’s turn on the page.

8500 since Sunday, moving right along. The book is pretty much done, just a few more chapters to tweak. Yay!

I hit 50k yesterday! Right now it looks like this draft will be about 120k, so I should get to the halfway mark by the end of next week. I’ve been good about getting my 2000 words, although I might not make it all the way there today - I’m at 1500, but the dog needs a trip to the vet, so I don’t know what the rest of the day will be like.

The good: I only have about 10 more pages to revise and then the first round will be done! *is gleeful* (This is my first time doing this, so it is new and exciting) Today might be it!
The bad: Actually, nothing.
The unexpected: I’d say both of those were unexpected.
I’ve only added about 300 more words since the last check-in (and gotten rid of ~1000), but the story is much better for it. My total is about 12k.

I tinkered with the damn thing and ended up cutting 1k words (how does that happen?) Anyway I am taking 2 steps back so far. Hoping to make up for it this weekend.

Well I’ve been working on my ms at least 2 hours a day but currently I’m doing some major editing and deleting…I want to delete and tighten but where that puts me for this challenge? I have no idea. Still, thought I’d check in as I’m still writing and its fun to see how everyone else is doing. =) Have fun writing everyone!

Total so far is 32,370, still not quite where I want to be but it’s getting there. I finished one WiP on Sunday and have about 2.5 chapters to go on a novel I’d hoped to have finished a month ago. Why does RL keep getting in the way!! Also had an idea for a short story, which I may or may not pursue…

I’ve missed my goal the last three days. I’m editing the novella I completed last week but starting a new novel is proving difficult. I refuse to lose my earlier momentum. I’m just going to slog through and hopefully my pace will pick up as I get deeper into the new story. Hopefully, lol.

I’m doing okay, though today I can’t seem to focus through my head cold. I want to be in bed. I’m up to about 30K and I want to be at 40K by the end of March. I’m having a little bit of that freak-out that happens when things don’t go as you expect and you aren’t sure that they are going well or not. And of course, there’s no real knowing until I’m done. Dammit. And then I’ll hate everything. Ah well. Onward and upward!

I didn’t do a thing on the book I’m supposed to be working on, but I did spend a good bit of time revising the end of my Nov. ‘08 release because I didn’t like what I had already written. And now I’m exhausted and need a 24 hour break to get caught with other stuff and re-charge. Then it’s back to the book…

Hideous start to the week. Family crisis and some stopping for research on the book meant I wrote next to nothing the first 2 days this week. Ugh! Must catch up on the tail end of the week. But I did finish galleys today, so one project out of the way. Onward…

Upped my daily goal to 2K and doing pretty well with it. Sitting at about 21K so still on target.
Also made a commitment with my Sven writing buddy that we will HAVE to swap our ms when it’s said and done so that’s a nice extra motivator.

I’m feeling pretty pleased so far this week. I finished chapter 7 and got deep into chapter 8. Although I’m revising a novel, these chapters are almost all new material.

Did another 3,500 words (not counting what I hope to get done tonight) and a bunch of research so I’m feeling good. Hit a block last week, which stalled me and I’m being haunted with new ideas to revive an old manuscript. Back to the blank page….

Unless you can use blog post for word count then I have nothing for the week. I’ve turned in the first round of edits to my editor and really I don’t think I’m going to get much done for this week.

Just plugging along, 1,000/day…where I’m headed I have no idea. My peeps want to keep knowing what happens next, so I take that as a good sign. Hard to blog and write a story in same day…my blog is suffering and I don’t like that.

I haven’t started working today yet (I write after the kids go to bed) but I’m up about 2200 words so far this week since I started writing my new WIP yesterday!

4722/7000 for the week so far. I finished the long section of inserted scenes (17877 words, 59 pages of material), so now I’m working with the section that follows. Some of it doesn’t fit anymore, so I’ve got to figure out what to do with it.

I got about 2k more this time, but now it’s like pulling teeth. Right now, my character is with Mr. Wrong, whom I do not like, and their dates are just dragging for me. Oddly enough, the writing is much smoother when she comes into contact with Mr Right! I am hoping to finish ch 6 tonight or tomorrow, and move on to more exciting events!

3k this week so far, 31k total. The good is also the unexpected - that I’ve kept up this pace for over three weeks now - while working full time and not neglecting my family. The bad - my blog has been neglected. Oh well, something’s got to give right?

Ack, I’m tired.
Missed check in on Sunday, but not much to report with being sick and the Easter weekend. Words since last Wednesday are 2877, about 1600 of which is this week. I only managed 111 today.
Been doing major housecleaning and reorganizing and all (it’s actually looking like a presentable place to live rather than a place people come and dump things wherever they like) this week in preparation for the littlest ones to be home starting next week. Almost done with it, but will take rest of week, I’m sure. Think with life as it is, I will be happy with daily writing and an average of 500 words a day at this pont.
Good thing: have done more than 10500 words during this Sweat, and have almost 22000 words on the WIP completed now. Very awesom!
Unexpected: came up with some great new ideas for ruture WIP, and noted them down. Have also done research for actually marketing some of my writings, and found several places that have a match up for what I’m working on - several of the WIPs that I have gonig right now. Including an unexpected one.
So I guess with the writing each day and research I’ve been doing, I think I’m okay with this. Gotten some great encouragement from my friend Catie, too.

New words: a little less than 3,000 since Sunday. But for me, this has been storyboarding week — had to do some extra storyboarding and world-building, then I had to go back and revised based on my new insights — and I’m happy to say I got the revisions finished. Now I can push forward with the story! WOO HOO!

Well, only about a thousand words on the Sven works this week. I still feel good about it, because I also finished a synopsis and revisions in the last few days.

I’ve been a bad sweater. I don’t have a word count, but I have 2 chapters of the new project in fairly decent condition. Now I’m going to put that on hold and polish up the ms that’s now a Golden Heart finalist and see if it can attract any renewed outside interest.
I love it when a plan self-destructs. :-p

I didn’t check in Sunday for two reasons… One, nothing to report–unless you count the whole 95 words on Thursday. Two, I was too tired from my weekend trip to Memphis with my buddy Delilah Devlin. We took lots of great pictures for research purposes and had a blast!
Monday, refreshed and ready to write, I buckled down and cranked out some words. From Monday to Wednesday, I did over 6900 words. I’m 2k away from the needed 20k for this project. I plan to finish tonight, edit tomorrow, then off to the CP for a fast read!

Well, I’m running late again. To top that off, I’ve done nothing this week. Zero words, zero editing. Very, very disappointed with myself. So I’m leaving it all until next week, start fresh. For the rest of the week I’m going to put some time into research.

I am writing…I am I promise! I’m just not sure about the wordcount currently. I’m on roughly between 500 and 2000 words a day at the moment although over the weekend that lapsed a little.
Monday turned into a submission day but I still wrote in between waiting for websites to load up. I’ve got two deadlines for the end of the week which I’m hoping to hit so fingers crossed!

The first draft of 3’s Company is done. So now I’m just typing it up and doing the first round of revisions as I go. I wrote it longhand so now I have to pay for that!
Didn’t like where my short story ‘Contraband’ was going, so I’ve scrapped that and have started it again, so about 150 words of new material on that.
Not bad. I’m happy.

Been so busy I forgot Wednesday. Now it’s Thursday. Sven is glaring at me.
Last night I studied for a chemistry test (not mine– eldest son’s) and researched Namibia (not for me– youngest son’s). Trying to figure out a way to work new knowledge about covalent bonds and the Marxist South-West Africa People’s Organization (SWAPO) into my WIP, but they just ain’t fitting….
@800 new words since Sunday. Better than 0!

I’ve realized there’s something almost as distracting as having everyone (hubby and kids) home for a week, and that is the quiet time when they go back to work/school, ’cause then I refocus on…me. Just goofing off and me. Yeah, I’ve been a slug this week.
