Erk… busy checking proofs at the moment, so forward progress on the WIP has ground to a halt again.
I think one of my problems is that I can only have one set of characters in my ‘active’ memory at once… otherwise I get mixed up. I can’t jump from project to project and back again easily. My focus on one story is deep and total, even if I’m only proof checking it.
I suppose this is good from the ‘intensity’ point of view, but bad from the standpoint of flexibility and adaptability as a writer…

I’ve had about 9 days of being back in the Sven groove *grin*
This has probably been helped by full requests, sales and I had good news about my blood, lol (my right kidney is not happy with me, but my left is coping *grin*)
Sven total: 77 736

The total number of words written is 53397 for Sven. I’m reworking the plot to add in a couple of subplots. Right now I’m being forced to clean our house. So not much will happen until that’s through.

Not very. If fact, you may send me a certificate verifying that I finished last! Having said that, I did learn a few things. One, I need to write every day, even if it is just one paragraph. I am saner person for writing. Two, the handwriting doesn’t work. I need to type on the computer to make any real progress, and three, NO BACK TRACKING. I need to keep moving forward.
Thank you so much for the Sweaty Sven. Sweat is good. I am such a glutton for punishment, that if you do this again, I will sign up again.

I’ve been revising one piece, and I’ve also begun brainstorming a backstory for a video game I’ve been working on with a few friends (as well as composing music and trying to come up with character sketches, but that’s not relevant to Sven).
It’s been interesting to read over what I’ve written and be able to pinpoint when I found my footing — the quality of the writing is much better the further in I go, which is really encouraging. Last time I tried to write this story, I started strong and kind of fizzled, and it kind of made me doubt I had the stamina for longer fiction. Much better this time around (even with the glaring contradictions I discovered :))

Moving along. Started my novella and have a little over 11K done on that, so will be working on that until the end of this Sven challenge.
Keep going, everyone! We’re nearing the end. Don’t give up!!!!

I’m stopping at 87% of my projected goal, deliberately so for a long list of practical reasons I won’t bore you with here. I’m 12k shy of my goal, and plan on starting back up in a couple of weeks once I finish the changes to the classes I’m teaching and iron out the inevitable beginning of semester bumps. I’m just having to focus on the job that pays the bills for the immediate time being.

I’m closer and I’m grateful to Sven for helping me get there. Doesn’t look like I’ll finish this draft by the 15th, but the end of the month seems doable.
Having the target ahead of me helped. Must be related to a greyhound, but I’m neither that fast, that sleek, nor four-legged.
I’m so pleased for others who have finished or made progress. That’s why we’re here.

Ack!
Totally forgot to update on progress… which is only maybe 3k. Edits came this weekend so that’s been eating up my brain power until today so I haven’t done much work on my WIPs.

Whooo! Go everyone!
Let’s see, I got AA’s and had to deal with those. Revisions and crit - more revisions. Started a novella and got about 3K on it around all my other stuff.
I’m itching to be done with all the technical stuff so I can get back to writing!

I reached the 100,000 mark on Sunday and have written over 4000 words since. I just wish I could finish the book! As the story goes, I’ve got about another 10,000 words to go. Groan! I know this is too long.
Still, I’m very excited about getting as far as I have. I couldn’t have done it without Sven, or without y’all and the encouragement of being part of a challenge. I’m hoping that when the next Sven starts, I’ll be ready to begin the next book.

This phase was a huge success for me. I won NaNo, then finished the first draft of that project (63K). Total for Sven so far since 10/15 is 101,900 words. Now I’m 1600+ into the next project!

:p I even forgot it was Wednesday! I can’t wait for school to start so I’m back on a fixed schedule. When is the next challenge?
January 9th, 2008 at 10:57 pm
Oops forgot sunday (too busy getting ready for the first day back to classes) since last wed I’ve gotten 6, 813 words done (mostly for holiday gifts, fan fiction and yes a tad late) and a total for my 70 days so far of 97815

It’s 12:0l am. Technically Thursday. I’m at 46121 out of 70000. Six days to go. It doesn’t look like I’m making the big 70K. I’m smiling anyway. It’s solid work.
January 10th, 2008 at 5:06 am
I added 3-4K since Sunday. So 15K to go. I may not make 70K but I feel triumphant anyway.

finished my first reread! still have about 30 pages or so to write before it’s finished though - guess I’ll need a third marathon!
January 11th, 2008 at 12:42 am
Well, I managed to write a little, 1,000 words - but I’m not done with this chapter yet. I had a week’s work with my day-job which always slows down the writing process. I’ll try to make it up this weekend.
