WOW!! Where has the time gone?

Well, since Wednesday I have edited one WIP, as well as two chapters of my NaNo novel. I’ve also written five pages long hand for another WIP.

I’ve tried to be very good this week and not spend too long on the computer. I have to say my wrist is thanking me. So I’ll continue writing long hand for the time being.

I have no idea how writers managed before typewriters and computers. I am getting a new found appreciation for Jane Austen and the other authors of her time.

I’m not sure now that I’ll get another of my novels finished by the end of Sven, but I feel I have achieved a lot anyway.

So until Wednesday’s check in bye for now.

    Hugs

    Sandie

  2. Thomma Lyn Says:

I’m working on revisions — got four more chapters revised since last check-in! Moving right along. :D

  3. Rachel.C Says:

No writing, much to my disgust but I have read and reviewed 6 books so I guess I haven’t been that unproductive.
‘See’ you at next check in.

I’ve written and posted another short story since the last check-in and am working on what will be a POD compilation of my “Will and Diana” series of stories. It’s something I’m doing for myself, not with the expectation of sales. I just enjoy having bound print versions of the stuff I like but don’t plan to pitch. I’m busily editing, formatting and adding illustrations, and I hope to upload it to Lulu tomorrow and order a copy. Fun stuff!

  5. Portia Da Costa Says:

Have been balancing web design, guest blogging and writing since Weds check in, so not a massive amount done. Some progress though, on my secondary Sven project, a novella. So all is not lost… :)

No writing yesterday at all though, as I spent the day out in Manchester, meeting one of writing buddies and fellow ’sweaters’, Madelynne Ellis! We had a brilliant time… :)

  6. Jane Says:

3844 for this week. Just over 50% of my goal.
Honestly, i’m surprised it’s not worse. I haven’t been very motivated this week. I’m not entrenched enough in anything to find the words are really flowing.
Plus i was out 4 nights this week (very unusual for me) so that hampered my productive writing time. I think the silly season is getting to me….

  7. Kim Knox Says:

My wip no-4 is creeping up to 30k - which would have been great when I thought that was how long it was going to be! lol Damn plot bunnies…I have at least another 20k to add, so hopefully this will be finished by the end of Sven.

It’s the only story I’ve worked on this week (besides edits for The Third Proposal, which I have to finish today *gulp*) as I get myself back into the flow of writing again.

My total for Sven is 57,400

  8. Silke Says:

    I’m slack lol.
I did…. not a lot except mess around a lot.

I promise to do better next week!

  9. Amanda Freeman Says:

    Bah Hum Bug!

    Next week is the week.

  10. Larissa Says:

I didn’t quite hit my 7K/wk goal, but I did get 6,382 words this week on my Sven story, plus pages on the 4th Croft book proposal. So I’m pretty happy with the progress. I’m now at 61K in the ms., so 2/3rds of the way done. Yay!!!!

  11. Mechele Armstrong Says:

Had a great writing day on Friday which helped my total greatly for the week. Roughly 5 K over the whole week. Considering I had offical edits yesterday and the decision made to read the story through from beginning to where I was, I’m happy.

    I’m almost at 70 K for Sven!

  12. Elen Says:

WC up 10945 since Nov. 28th; the last time I reported. (Oops!) I’m now sitting at 37000. If I’m a very good Sweater until January 15th, I’ll make it.

I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. We blogs it out!

  13. Charlene Teglia Says:

I’ve finished and turned in 2 of the 4 projects I wanted to finish during Sven. Onto #3.

  14. Karen Erickson Says:

I finished my vamp novella last night - I wrote a total of 7124 words yesterday which counts for my entire word count since Wednesday’s check in! I slacked for a couple of days but then more than made up for it! So excited that’s done, check another one off my list.

I’ve completed three novellas since Sven started. I’ve written over 70k since 10/15. Wow! I love Sven! :)

  15. Michelle (MG) Says:

I’ve decided I’m not going to put myself down about this challenge. I finished one novella and edited it and added more words and handed it in. In the meantime I did edits on 10 other pieces in my editing job (for others), started edits on of my other ms’ that I want to add 12k to (so far about 300 added since I’m editing and adding as I go) and read 8 complete novel entries for a contest I’m judging.

I like Sven and if you do this again, I’m doing it. I have since freed up time for myself and plan on writing every day.

  16. Nicole Gestalt Says:

It’s been mainly edits this week on various pieces so I’m not sure on the actual word count. However they should be all done an dusted by mid next week so I can get back down to writing lots and lots :)

  17. Stephanie Staton Says:

I haven’t done much since NaNo ended. I am ready to start editing and adding a little more to my novel. This past week off was what I needed to recharge.

  18. Liane Gentry Skye Says:

I’m about to slide into edit mode. Both manuscripts are done in the sense of the story is there. Now it’s time to clean them up, beat back the narrative and make it more active.

This has been sooo much fun. Well, most of the time. :D

  19. Shiloh Walker Says:

Hee hee… I’m satisfied! The plot kink is unraveled, I’ve made up the words I lost when I went delete happy and then some.

About 5500 in two days… no writing done Friday. Ugh. But still, I’m happy!

  20. Seanachi Says:

Over 12k this week! Not much today, but that’s okay. I’m really pleased.

  21. Annie Says:

hi so I’ve only written a little over 300 wrds this week. I hoping that once I have my winter break that I’m catch up. I came up with a challenge for myself that once my school break start I’ll try to beat the day before words count. for example if I only write 300 words monday then tuesday I want to write more then 300 even if it just 301. lol something like that. Good luck to everyone! I hope everyone has a Happy Holidays!

  22. Lori Says:

Been sick all week, but I managed to get some writing in toward the end.

    4605 words since Thursday.

Today, I needed to work out some plot issues. The WIP is running long, which is fine for a first draft, but I knew there were issues beyond that. Since I started Sven, the plot bunnies have been hopping through my brain and I’ve allowed them free range, following where they might lead me. Now that I’ve reached the final quarter of the book, I realized that I need to figure out which bunnies are hollow and which are solid chocolate. I spent most of the afternoon doing just that and I think I made some real progress.

  23. Wayne (aka Trybble) Says:

    9 December:
    Magic Touch:
    Total word count = 10,157
    New words written = 0

    Double O Blonde
    Total word count = 22,537
    New words written = 3,399

Despite a bad start during the first half of the week where my manuscript actually shrunk, the second half came on like barn burners and I was able to crank out my best writing numbers so far. I hope it stays this way.

    See y’all on Wednesday.

    Take care…………Wayne

  24. Carrie Lofty Says:

    Here goes–

    Th-Sun: 6377
    Total WIP: 57360
    Total short story: 1580
For the challenge: 58940 or 1052/day

  25. Ella Drake Says:

Finished my short story, 12,000. Still going strong, meeting daily goals. We’ll see how I hold up next week since I’m tackling revisions on my other WIP.

  26. shannon kennedy Says:

I’m still hanging in there when it comes to writing, but haven’t even started on the holidays. I got in 2,000 words since Wednesday. I’m still working on the young adult.

  27. Joely Says:

Still grinding away in an attempt to finish the NaNoWriMo novel. I’ve touched it every single day this month, at an average of 723 words/day, compared to a November average of over 1700 words/day. My Sven total for this phase: 77,993 words.

(I didn’t report in until I got my words, 1,115 for the day.)

  28. Ann Says:

Well, I’ve added 1316 for the week, without cutting any, and also found an interesting plot development. Be vewy qwiet, we’re hunting plotbunnies. :)

  29. Rebecca Airies Says:

Since Wednesday, I wrote 4741 words, but not all of it was new. I restarted Making Magic, because I wasn’t getting anywhere with it as it was. I equalled what I had written on that story and am happy with the way the story is developing now.

  30. Gina Marina Says:

grrr - remembered I needed to check-in on Saturday. Now it’s Monday. None of my words have been typed up. I’m on my way to bed (after a blog post).

A test tomorrow, finals next week, and we still haven’t gotten our tree or put up any decorations. sigh

  31. Merry Says:

Not very productive, I’ve reached a total of 14, 217 words on my novella & I’ve done 1,725 on a 3k short story (which I may now re-write before completing and sending off on Wednesday! Aaargh!!)

But, it’s going forward. Slowly but surely. :)

  32. deniz Says:

I’ve been trying to come up with a title ALL weekend. So far stuck on The Following Sea. :-)

  33. Jaci Burton Says:

I’m 200 pages into revisions on the book I finished, so I’m rockin!

  34. D M Evans Says:

I’ve been writing all over the place fixing things up and working on holiday shorts, getting about 6777 words since wednesday.

  35. Lauren Dane Says:

I finished Undercover and now I leave it for a few days before I start revisions!
