I’ve had some very productive days. I’m up to 47,862 words for my NaNo story, but have to admit I am finding it very hard to these last lot of words out. I feeling a mixture of elation and despair. Elation that I am so close. Despair that I may not have anymore in me. Oh well I have two days to come up with something.
I’m checking page proofs at the moment, so I’m taking a few of my official ‘rest’ days to do that. But it’s still writing work, and I like the way that the book I’m checking reads!
As a change from the proofs, to refresh my mind, I actually did a bit of writing yesterday, on a new story. Just 1K, but it was nice to be cranking out words instead of just checking existing ones.
So all in all, I’m quite pleased with how things are going, even though I’m not exactly galloping ahead just now.
I’m not doing so well on NaNo, but doing well on Sven (hey, 50% isn’t bad!)
I won’t be winning NaNo this year (unless I am struck with productive insomnia) but as the Sven-ning is going well, I’m not panicked about that. Wistful, but not panicked.
NaNo: 13,338
Sven: 18,502
The main problem I’ve come across is that, in the WIP I’m on Chapter four but in my notes I’m still on chapter three. Somehow I don’t think it’s going to be a novella. :eep: Mind you, I expect there will be extraneous material I can edit out once it’s done. We shall see.
I’m on enforced Sven rest days since Sunday and probably to the end of the week.
I was in hospital and got out yesterday. It’s looking like my right kidney and I are not getting on at all. There’s a chance we may have to go our separate ways Did get to lounge on a bed for two days and read, though, lol
Sandie, I know how you feel! Since last week I’ve pushed hard to rewrite and polish my manuscript because I came up too short with the word count. I definitely have the productive insomnia Merry was talking about (and hey, it hurts!!) When I turn this sucker in, I’m going to celebrate by taking a nap.
I am so close to reaching the word limit. It HAS to be 80,000 words, but too many times I will look at the page I’m working on and think, “I’ve got nothing.”
But then if I get more than a couple hours of sleep or if I go walk the dog and immediately get back to the computer, I feel refreshed and power through.
i’ve written about 2000 words (on the WIP and something fresh and new), and i’ve edited about 20 pages (which probably involved removing about 2000 words), so my word count is totally skewed.
Slowly but surely….
Kicking butt and taking names. I’ve written 7,260 by noon today and am still typing away. I’m at 46,276 for NaNo and my novel is beginning to close. There’s quite a bit more to say though. I’ve got another three hours before the monsters come home. So fingers crossed I’ll cross the finish line sometime tomorrow.
Okay I’m back, I just had to come over to let you all know I finished my MS for NaNo tonight. Yes all 50,025 words, 11 chapters and 245 pages.
I’m now taking a few days off before getting back into my other MS.
I’d like to thank Portia for all her support, she has been wonderful dropping by my blog every so often and also to everyone else who dropped by. Thanks everyone catch up with you all on Sunday.
I did finish the 15k piece I’m submitting somewhere 11/30, along with a 1k-word synopsis for it, and I wrote somewhere around 10k on the other project between Oct 15 and now, but no definite numbers. This fall I am a working writer who can’t keep track.
Haven’t written anything since I finished draft one of EotF last Saturday. Trying to let it sit a week before thinking about it. Do have a few other projects which need attention this week though.
15,608 words since Sunday’s check in. I am kicking ass and taking names or at least trying to. I have around 12,000 more words left in my NaNo novel. I hope to make a lot of head way today. I wish this cold and sinus crap would leave me alone so I can get more word written.
Kim, sorry about the kidney, but break-ups do happen and usually they are for the best.
I’ve written about 500 words on the new book. I’m about to do my final sweeping edits on my contracted book and I’m on the hunt for a CP. My week will be busy.
Not much writing done since last check-in, but I have done a lot of research and wrote a paper for school (which sadly, doesn’t count for Sven! LOL). Tomorrow I’m playing hooky from school so I can write all day
Still hanging in there, but since I finished my nano, I have found a zillion reasons to avoid writing LOL. I think it’s post holiday slump….But tomorrow, I’m right back at it. Really. Honest. I swear. I’m within six thousand words or so of my Sweat goal, so I may need to raise the bar a bit. Or not LOL.
It’s time to start editing some of this stuff. The goal was clean manuscripts by Jan 15.
I’ve handwritten about five pages. Thanksgiving really slowed me down. Also, I have a knitting project due at the end of the week, so I probably won’t get as much written. Sigh…
I’ve had a good start this week and have been able to finish a piece and run through the it adding here and there. My word count for this week so far stands at: 3030 words bringing my total to: 31121
4629 words since last check-in. Some of these were written during a bout of insomnia last night. I learned a valuable lesson, though. Always check the caffeine content of aspirin if you take it before going to bed. I was wide awake at 2 a.m. My mind was on my story, so I didn’t waste the time, even if I did lose some beauty sleep. I’m going to take my baggy eyes to bed now.
Obviously not doing a lot, or I’d remember to check in. I’m working on revisions, so nothing new on my other story. I’m cutting more words than I’m adding. *sigh* It has to be done, tho.
Making notes on the NaNo Project — including those, I’ve written over 55,000 words so far in November! I’ve discovered I have too many characters, which I suspected, so I need to trim a few threads. That work continues through Friday and then Saturday I’m turning to revisions on another book, which is my other goal for Sven.
Hooray for everyone who’s making it through NaNoWriMo!
I got in 3,362 words since Sunday, and started my y/a today. I had a homework assignment to finish for yesterday’s class, so I didn’t really write anything fun on Tuesday or Wednesday. It’s nice to be back, but I’ve got about 2,000 words to go for NaNo. Well, I still have a day. Good luck to everybody. Keep writing!
Oops, totally forgot to check in. I’m on target for my weekly goal so far, but I have jumped back to my original Sweat project. Finally got unstuck on it, which makes me happy. I won’t finish it by the end of the challenge (I’d have to get in over 2k a day to do it and my life just doesn’t allow for that), but I’ll have a good chunk knocked out. I’m over halfway to my word goal in terms of overall words written since the start of the Challenge, though it’s been on different projects and a large chunk was the first 10 chapters of my original Sweat project that I decided to rewrite. Better now than after I had a total boring draft!

Doing okay. Need to make some changes to Act 2. How’s everyone else doing?

I’m doing well — I’m up to a total of 57,174 words on my NaNo novel, and I’ve gotten 6,071 words written since Sunday’s check-in.

Am riding w/21,750 in the bank. That’s way short of where I wanted to be by this time, but all I can do is keep moving forward, right?

Doing great the past two days. 8500 words. I might just finish this book this week. Might. I really need to.
Congrats Sandie H on making your Nano goal! Well done!
Looks like Amanda is getting close to hitting the Nano goal too! Woo hoo!
Kim - take care of your health first. That’s important.

There’s not enough time. I’m woefully behind schedule. 87,680. I’m hoping I can wrap this up by 100K, but we’ll see.
November 28th, 2007 at 9:32 am
Clipping right along, though behind schedule. I’ve found my mojo and am getting back on track. Very exciting.
November 28th, 2007 at 10:51 am
I have compleeetely lost track of Sven.
I did finish the 15k piece I’m submitting somewhere 11/30, along with a 1k-word synopsis for it, and I wrote somewhere around 10k on the other project between Oct 15 and now, but no definite numbers. This fall I am a working writer who can’t keep track.

I’m so close!!
4700+ words since Sunday. NaNoWriMo total = 48,186; Sven total since 10/15 = 69,389.
November 28th, 2007 at 11:08 am
Worked out some huge problems I was having, so I should be able to pick up the pace again.
November 28th, 2007 at 11:10 am
I’m thinking about titles. That’s about it
Oh I feel so bad!!!
